Frequently Asked Questions
What are the FF Awards?
The FF Awards are a celebration and recognition of companies in the fintech space and their ‘WOW’ moments; products, services or ideas that bring meaningful change to the financial services sector. The awards recognise innovation in product and services and delivery of solutions to challenging issues to a wide audience.
Who operates the Awards?
The Awards are organised by FF News | Fintech Finance, publisher of The Fintech Magazine, The Paytech Magazine and The Insurtech Magazine. You can find more at ffnews.com which is also home to The Fintech Show, Fintech Virtual Arenas, The Fintech Rap and a trove of daily industry stories, event coverage, interviews & more.
Winners will be decided by Fintech Finance subscribers.
Who is eligible to enter?
The awards are open to companies worldwide. If you have a WOW Moment which fits the criteria of at least one category, tell us all about it in a 4 minute video. It doesn’t matter if you’re a pre-fund startup or an international mega-star unicorn, everything is equitable at the FF Awards; everyone has an equal chance to win.
When is the deadline to enter?
This year entries are open from March 14th up to 29th July 2022. There is no voting prior to entries closing, so there is no penalty for entering close to the closing date.
What are the award categories?
The FF Awards have the following awards in 2022:
ID Verification & KYC
How do I become a Finalist?
Voting begins on August 1st and the format is simple. The top 5 videos with the most votes in each category are shortlisted and move on to the finals.
Does my entry need to be created in the past 12 months?
Can we do a joint entry/case study or bring in a third party?
Yes. In fact, this year we have added the Partnership award, specifically for this purpose, however you are free to enter jointly in any category.
Can I enter/win in more than one category?
What needs to be in the entry video?
This can be whatever you want it to be – We simply want to see a WOW moment. We want you to put together an ‘elevator pitch’ to convey your message.
Why you should win in your category, summed up in an easy way to understand. So even if the judges weren’t an ‘expert’ in that space, they would even watch it and think ‘WOW, that’s pretty cool!’
Whether you wanted to keep it a simple and direct message to the camera or include a bunch of graphics, edits and b-roll is completely up to you.
Can I use a previous video?
Absolutely – as long as it is four minutes or under. If you have a five-minute explainer video, then if you can edit this down to four minutes – submit away! If you have a three min case study video, do submit it.
The important thing is that it is clear to understand your process or product, and it showcases a WOW moment!
Are you having an In-Person Awards Ceremony?
Yes. This will be on the 29th November at Old Billingsgate.
Can I attend even if I don’t make the finals?
What is the dress code for the ceremony?
Wear what you would wear to a movie premiere!
